About Us

E Clampus Vitus Chapter 58, known as Estanislao Chapter, has a proud history dating back to 1958. Our chapter was officially chartered on April 13, 1958, during a Grand Council meeting in Petaluma, CA. Our first official gathering, known as the Charter Doins’, took place in Knights Ferry on June 21, 1958, where we initiated 37 Poor Blind Candidates (PBCs).

Our chapter is named after Chief Estanislao, a courageous leader of the Miwuk tribe who fought valiantly against oppression during the 1820s. His resistance symbolizes the spirit of independence and unity that we uphold to this day. Each of our gatherings includes a Ceremony for the Dead to honor Chief Estanislao and our departed brothers.

Over the years, our chapter has grown to initiate thousands of new members and host legendary Doins’ attended by over a thousand Redshirts and hundreds of PBCs. These events are held on the third Saturday of April and October each year, drawing Clampers from across the region to share in the camaraderie and historical preservation that define E Clampus Vitus.
